Staking in Sogni is designed to reward commitment, not just with tokens, but with influence. During each 6 week leaderboard season staking is all about one thing: Staking Power. The current staking Leaderboard is always updated in real-time at sogni.ai/leaderboard#staking where you can win your share of 10,000,000 SOGNI tokens. Of all 4 of our seasonal leaderboards the staking leaderboard receives the lionshare of rewards, 33% of seasonal airdrop allocation. These tokens are allocated to the top 2,500 stakers each season. How Staking Works
To Stake SOGNI tokens, you simply go to dashboard.sogni.ai and click the "Stake SOGNI" button under "Available to Stake". This button is only enabled if you have an available balance of SOGNI tokens to stake. You can add SOGNI tokens to your account by earnings them as a worker or withdrawing tokens from an exchange to the BASE wallet address linked to your account.
When you stake SOGNI, you're locking your tokens for a set period of weeks (epochs) to gain Staking Power, the metric used to rank wallets on the Staking Leaderboard. The more Staking Power you accumulate, the higher in the leaderboard rank you climb.
At the end of each 6-week Leaderboard Season each Sogni account that ranks against the Terms of the competition is awarded a portion of that season's leaderboard allocation of SOGNI tokens relative to their Staking Power. The formula for reward allocation for each ranking account is based on their percent of the aggregate Staking Power accumulated that season factoring a leaderboard rank multiplier.
With the start of each new staking season, all staked tokens from the previous season are available to unstake and stake again in the new season.
More technical details:
Staking Power is multipled by Staking Epochs: Staking Epochs are one week intervals of time that begin on 00:00 UTC each Monday from the start of the season. This means if you stake for 1 epoch, the stake occurs immediately but counts epochs multipliers from the next upcoming 00:00 UTC Monday.
No Early Unstaking: Once you commit, your tokens are locked for the full leaderboard season. No early exits.
One Lock Per Wallet: Each wallet can only have one active lock at a time. This means you can stake multiple times but all your staked tokens are always in one group which must be extended or unlocked together.
Add to Your Stake: As long as there are new epochs left (new 00:00 UTC Mondays) in the season you can increase your stake by staking new balances into your existing stake.
Staking Power is earned instantly during stake: You earn Staking Power on the Staking leaderboard as soon as the staking action is processed which typically happens within seconds. For example, if you stake for 5 weeks, you get 5 weeks of Staking Power added to the leaderboard instantly. This is because the staking contract guarantees the tokens are staked for the staking period so you get the points upfront!

Note: Staking across shorter periods gives significantly less power than committing upfront. So if you're aiming for high leaderboard rank, it's best to lock in early and for as many epochs as you can.

Q: If I staked already but then continue to stake new worker earnings how is Staking Power calculated? A: Each new stake generates Staking Power independently relative to the remaining seconds and epochs in the season. If no epochs have passed then your additional stake would get the full epoch count multiplier of the original stake. Q: Is there any benefit to staking early in an epoch? A: Yes, since staking is now "by-the-second". The sooner you stake, the more seconds of staking season you accrue points for.
Q: If I stake for 1 week, then decide to extend it to 5 weeks, would I get the same Staking Power as if I staked for 5 weeks from the start? A: No, the exponential epoch staking multiplier only counts for single staking events, so your first stake would get no epoch multiler and your 2nd would get 4 epoch staking multiplier. So it's best to stake for maximum epochs from the start for maximum Staking Power.

Longer locks = way more Staking Power
You can’t unstake early, all stakes unlock at the end of the leaderboard season.
One lock per wallet—but you can add to existing stakes up until the last week. There is currently no additional staking during the last week of a season.
All stakes are automatically available for unlock after the 6-week leaderboard period ends
